This seminar is suitable for

• advanced dancers who are used to intensive and challenging work

• professional dance couples and teachers

• dancers from upper intermediate level upwards who have the courage to encounter Tango in its magnitude and complexity

This seminar comprises a total of 16 hours of teaching plus 15 minutes of warm-up/technique per day.

DESCRIPTION OF THE SEMINAR:

"This is a program based on the rules of the social Tango dance. This means that we’ll study here all that we believe is necessary for good dancing in a reasonably crowded “milonga”. There is a particular embrace, a kind of steps manageable in reduced spaces, with lots of rhythm and a high level of concentration on the music and on the partner. We’ll work in this seminar with a very subtle technique through upper body turns that permits control of the space and movement in all directions, keeping the minimum distance inside the couple. We'll also work here with the attitude which has a great influence on the dance results and takes a central role in the milonga context, where social meeting is the typical situation. Another important element in this ambit is the particular use of memory that privileges the “reaction at the moment”; we look forward to mobilizing improvisation skills through the use of small modules or short sequences, conveniently organized, very useful to easily resolve the dance. We'll also include in the program some quotes about historic items of the Tango dance which provide the link that brought us to what Tango Milonguero is today."

• 1st day: 15 min of warm-up & technique + 2x2 hours of classes on Thursday, 21.6.12

• 2nd day: 15 min of warm-up & technique + 2x2 hours of classes on Friday, 22.6.12

• 3rd day: 15 min of warm-up & technique + 2x2 hours of classes on Saturday, 23.6.12

• 4th day: 15 min of warm-up & technique + 2x2 hours of classes on Sunday, 24.6.12

  The language of instruction is English. (Explanations can also be given in Spanish and Italian)

  Registration is only possible for couples via the registration form on this website. EACH PARTICIPANT has to fill in a separate registration form.
  Price per person for this seminar €480.
  SuTango / Susanne Mühlhaus will organise and provide the seminar as detailed above. Cancellation of this event is possible due to unforeseen circumstances (accident, illness, etc.).
